About Rusty Porterfield
Life moves quickly, and your financial priorities change right along with it. Maybe you're in your peak earning years and trying to make the most of them. Or, retirement is getting closer and you're starting to think more seriously about what that transition looks like. The decisions you make along the way can have a lasting impact.
I focus on building meaningful, long-term relationships with individuals and families who want to be intentional about their financial future. I have a process that helps give my clients confidence that they’re being wise with their money, making the most of what they have, and avoiding unnecessary taxes. Together, we can bring some clarity and structure to important decisions around investing, managing risk, preparing for retirement income, funding education, and supporting the people and causes that matter most to you.
As a financial advisor with Thrivent, a member-owned, not-for-profit organization, I help clients align their financial decisions with what's important to them. I believe money is a tool, and when used thoughtfully, it can help create opportunities for your family, your future, and the causes and communities you care about.
My goal is simple: help you plan confidently and live generously.
If it's been a while since you've looked at your overall financial strategy—or you're just ready to start thinking more intentionally about what's next—I’d welcome the conversation.

About Me Personally
I’m a third-generation Colorado native, husband, father of two, and dog dad. I grew up with a family legacy of philanthropy and community involvement, which has shaped how I think about relationships, stewardship, and giving back.
Supporting nonprofits and organizations that make a meaningful difference is something I hope to continue as part of my own legacy. I believe thoughtful stewardship isn't just about what we do with our resources, but also about the impact we can have on the people and communities around us.
I love the Colorado lifestyle and spending time in the mountains, whether skiing, golfing, or just enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy staying active, cooking, gardening, and working with plants. At home, I’ve always enjoyed hobbies that reward patience and attention to detail, including maintaining aquariums and planted tanks. And as a lifelong Denver Broncos fan, football season is always something I look forward to.
Travel is important to our family, and we enjoy exploring new places and making memories along the way—usually with our dog Orion somewhere nearby.
I believe life is about more than what we accomplish. It’s about the relationships we build, the experiences we share, and the impact we have on the people and communities around us.
