HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

A Flexible Planning Relationship — Tailored to You

Financial planning doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. We begin by understanding your life, priorities, and concerns, then decide together what level of guidance makes sense for you right now — with the flexibility to adjust as your needs evolve.

You choose the level of advice. My role is to help you understand your options, clarify trade-offs, and move forward intentionally.

Money Canvas™

Financial Coaching to Build Clarity and Healthier Money Habits

Money Canvas™ is a free, virtual coaching experience designed to help you reflect on your money habits, improve cash flow awareness, and regain a sense of control.

This option may be a good fit if you want help with:

  • Budgeting and saving
  • Understanding where your money is going
  • Reducing expenses or financial stress

For some clients, the Money Canvas™ experience provides a helpful foundation for future planning discussions, offering clarity around priorities, habits, and next steps.

Coaching includes three virtual sessions with a Thrivent money coach.

Cost: No cost or fees for coaching services.

Product-Based Solutions

Targeted Strategies for Specific Financial Needs

Some clients come to me with a clearly defined need — such as protection, income planning, or funding a specific goal.

In these cases, we may work together using product-based solutions, which can include:

  • Life insurance
  • Disability income insurance
  • Long-term care solutions
  • Annuities
  • Mutual funds or retail brokerage solutions

This approach is ideal when you want to address a specific gap without engaging in ongoing investment management or comprehensive planning.

Cost: Premiums, commissions, or fees vary by product and are disclosed prior to implementation.

Managed Accounts Program

Ongoing Investment Guidance Aligned With Your Goals

For clients seeking ongoing oversight of their investments, the Managed Accounts Program provides professional investment management aligned with your goals, priorities, and risk tolerance.

Investment strategies may include:

  • Mutual funds
  • Exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
  • Stocks and bonds

This option is well-suited for those who value disciplined monitoring, rebalancing, and advisor-guided investment decisions.

Cost: A quarterly asset-based fee, paid from assets under management or other approved sources.

Dedicated Planning Services

Comprehensive, Personalized Financial Planning

Dedicated Planning Services provide a deeper, more structured planning relationship for clients with complex or evolving needs.

This service includes:

  • A thorough review of your financial situation
  • Objective, written recommendations tailored to your goals
  • Guidance on retirement transitions, tax-efficient strategies, estate coordination, and planning for unexpected events

This option is often a good fit for families navigating caregiving responsibilities, life transitions, or long-term planning decisions that benefit from a coordinated, panoramic approach.

Cost: A flat annual planning fee, payable monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

Which Option Might Fit You?

If you’re unsure where to begin, that’s normal — and it doesn’t mean doing nothing.

“Not being ready” doesn’t mean avoiding decisions altogether. It means we take the time to:

  • clarify your goals
  • identify priorities and constraints
  • outline possible action steps

Only then can you intentionally decide which steps to take now — and which ones you’re choosing to postpone.

Some clients start with coaching or a focused solution and later move into investment management or comprehensive planning. Others begin with planning and simplify over time. There’s no single right path — just a thoughtful one that fits your life.

Wherever you are today, we can start there.

Financial Planning for Nonprofit Organizations

Guidance for Organizations, Boards, and Donors

I also work with nonprofit organizations, boards, and mission-driven leaders who are responsible for stewarding resources in service of a larger purpose.

This work may include:

  • Planning conversations with boards or leadership teams
  • Guidance around organizational reserves or long-term sustainability
  • Support for donors who want to align their giving with nonprofit goals
  • Coordination with charitable strategies available through Thrivent

This engagement is typically consultative and tailored to the organization’s size, mission, and needs. The focus is on clarity, governance-aware decision-making, and aligning financial resources with long-term impact.
