  4. What’s the best way to plan for healthcare costs beyond Medicare, including long-term care?
  5. How do I protect my portfolio against inflation and rising interest rates?
  6. Should I pay off my mortgage or keep investing?
  7. Is a Roth conversion right for me—and how do I diversify for tax efficiency?
  8. How will taxes impact my retirement income and estate plan?
  9. What strategies can help me leave a lasting legacy for my family and favorite causes?
  10. How do I integrate charitable giving or digital assets into my financial plan?
  11. What steps should I take to prepare for unexpected life events like divorce or disability?

If any of these questions—or others—are keeping you up at night, let’s connect and create a plan that gives you confidence and clarity.

About Lia Hege

Born and raised in Mattoon, I met my future husband, Erik, during my last year of college at the University of Illinois. Establishing roots in Champaign, after our wedding in 1997, we were then blessed with 5 beautiful daughters: Bri, Becca, Cara, Colleen, and Alexis. My hobbies include exploring the national parks system, watching sports, and assorted DYI crafts: upcycling, stamping, and decorating to name a few.

In August of 1993, I taught my first lesson as an undergrad teaching assistant at UIUC. Since that time, my vocations have been three-fold: wife to Erik, stay-at-home mom for 13 years, and public/parochial high school chemistry teacher for 13 years. In addition, I have always been drawn to the corporal works of mercy through organizations like St. Jude’s and Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Now, feeling called to a new vocation in the financial services industry, I am humbled to be a part of the East-Central Illinois Group and excited to use my creativity, organization, and teaching skills to walk side-by-side families who desire to put God’s love into action through their customized financial plans.

About Special Needs Planning

As a Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®), I offer a simplified approach to special needs planning - one that’s personalized to accommodate your financial situation and the goals you have for your child. In addition, I can help you explore the considerations of planning for a child with special needs so you can feel confident your plan will continue to meet your child’s needs—while you’re alive and after you’ve passed away.
