About Laun Dunn

I’m proud to serve as a Thrivent financial professional, providing personalized guidance to people at every stage of life. At Thrivent, we view money not as the end goal, but as a tool—one that can help you live a life rich in meaning and gratitude. We believe individuals flourish when they make the most of what they’ve been given, and I’m here to help you do just that.

My journey includes being a stay-at-home mom, leading multiple nonprofits, and successfully starting and running two companies of my own. Those experiences taught me how to prioritize every dollar and make decisions that reflect both values and goals. My passion is helping individuals and families build a strong “financial house.” I tell my clients: name every dollar—because if you don’t, it will name itself as it walks out the door.

Having your financial house in order doesn’t mean challenges won’t arise; it means that when they do, you’re prepared to face them with clarity and confidence.

Ready to take the next step? Let’s start building your financial house together. Contact me today to schedule a personalized consultation and begin creating a plan that aligns with your values and goals.

My Family

Dan and I share our home with our son Collin, our daughter Lindsay, and our four-legged family: Marcy, our gentle English Mastiff who firmly believes she’s a lap dog; Bert and Ernie, our Brussels Griffons with an absolutely unwarranted sense of self-importance (they basically run the place); and Sven, our cat who silently judges us all from his throne. Life here is never boring!

We proudly call ourselves “weekend warriors” when it comes to home improvement—translation: we take on projects that Pinterest swore were easy and then celebrate survival with takeout. Our latest mission? Turning the backyard into a staycation paradise, complete with features that sounded simple in theory but required more trips to the hardware store than we care to admit.

When summer rolls around, you’ll usually find us at car shows admiring classics—or more accurately, Dan showing off his pride and joy: his El Camino, built exactly as God and Louie Chevrolet intended. And of course, we never miss our annual pilgrimage to the Outer Banks for sun, sand, and stories that get better every year.

My Community

I absolutely love being out and about in the community! When Galesburg welcomed us back in 2017, we were the “new kids on the block,” and every day since, I’ve been thankful we took that leap of faith to make this our home. My time at United Way of Knox County gave me a front-row seat to the incredible generosity here—and let me build connections with some amazing nonprofits.

I truly believe that serving others is where we find our purpose, and I try to live that out every chance I get. You might catch me packing meals with Blessings in a Backpack, rocking a costume that perfectly matches the theme at Thrive events (yes, I go all in!), serving on the board for WIRC Community Action, or cheering on Costa Catholic Academy.

And then there’s the Lions Club—this year, I’m thrilled to serve as President of the Galesburg Noon Lions! It’s not just about meetings; it’s about making an impact and having fun while we do it. From vision screenings and eyeglass recycling to quirky fundraisers and pancake breakfasts that could rival any diner, we’re all about helping others and building community. Leading this passionate group of volunteers is an honor—and honestly, a blast.
