It’s important to remember that FAFSA must be submitted every year you want aid (grants, loans or work study). Mark your calendar well in advance and complete your application as soon as possible—some financial aid is first come, first served. Typically, the applications open on Oct. 1 for the next school year. Check here for dates and application info: https://bit.ly/4kxTLkO

Today would have been my mom's 95th birthday. This is the first birthday since we lost her last November, and I find myself missing her more than words can express. Birthdays were always a special time to celebrate her life, her wisdom, and the love she shared so generously with family and friends. While my heart aches that we can't celebrate together this year, I find comfort in knowing she is in Heaven, surrounded by joy and reunited with loved ones. I can only imagine the celebration taking place there today. I am so grateful for the 94 years we were blessed to have with her and for the countless memories that continue to bring comfort, laughter, and gratitude. Happy 95th Birthday, Mom. You are deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever in our hearts.

We had a great 4th of July this past weekend, but it felt a bit different because it was my first one without my mom. This was always her favorite holiday. Every year, she looked forward to the parade — she of course had her particular spot she sat at for her viewing pleasure. She loved the fireworks, the family time, and all the little traditions that came with the day. She just loved it all. We had a great weekend, but I was certainly thinking of my mom a little more; I'm grateful for all of those memories we shared together. See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.

As many of you know, earlier this year we lost one of our beloved dogs, Felix. It left our home feeling a little quieter than usual. Over time, my husband and I found ourselves browsing rescue websites, hoping to find the dog that would make our home feel complete again—and that’s when we found Lyla. 🐾 She’s a young pup full of energy, curiosity, and plenty of personality. Bringing her home has truly brought so much joy back into our days, and it’s been wonderful having two dogs in the house again. Mavi wasn’t quite sure what to think of all that puppy energy at first, but they’re starting to settle into a rhythm and becoming fast friends. It’s been fun (and a little chaotic!) watching their bond grow. Sometimes it’s the small, joyful moments in life that make the biggest difference—and we’re grateful for this new chapter.
