I've got valuable information and resources to share. Explore away! And check back often.

A friend and I decided to split a cow. At first, it sounded like an easy decision. Better quality meat. Support a local farmer. Less grocery shopping. Done. And then… reality set in. • How much meat is this really? • Do I have enough freezer space? • What cuts are included? • Where am I going to put all of this? What started as a simple purchase turned into a bit more of a planning exercise than I expected. Funny thing is, that’s how a lot of things in life work. They sound simple… until you start getting into the details. If you’ve ever wondered whether your retirement plan is as simple as it sounds, or if you’d just like a second set of eyes on it, I’m always happy to take a look with you.

Well… it didn’t go exactly how I pictured it. This week I got to do something I never would’ve believed would happen. I threw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game. I’ll be honest — not super happy with the throw (bounced it in the dirt in the left‑handed batter’s box)… but it’s an experience I’ll never forget. And it happened on my mom’s 90th birthday, which makes it even more meaningful. Hopefully something she’ll always treasure too. The walk to the mound hit me harder than I expected. Seeing myself on the centerfield scoreboard was pretty amazing… and honestly a little scary. Standing on the mound, you feel very alone. The throw… yeah, I wish I could have a do-over. But that’s life. Things don’t always turn out the way you expect. It all went so fast. It was overwhelming. And then it was done. But what I do know — and what I’ll always remember — is how grateful I am. Grateful for the family and friends who came out to share it with me… and very thankful for the generosity that made the whole opportunity possible. The throw wasn’t perfect… but the moment was. ⚾ #MinnesotaTwins #Thrivent #Thankful

One week from today, Monday, May 18, I get to throw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game. Excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A lot of people have asked how this even happened… Becky, my best friend and partner of almost 19 years, made it possible through a Twins Community Fund event - a charity that supports youth baseball and softball across Twins Territory. Not only did she help make a personal dream of mine come true, but her contribution is also going to have a real impact on a lot of kids. And then to have more than 20 friends and family coming to be there for it… that means the world to me. Very grateful for all of it. ⚾ (and yes, a little bit nervous! 😄) #Thrivent #MinnesotaTwins #Grateful

This “towel” doesn’t look like much - but if you lived in Minnesota in the late ’80s, you know exactly what it is. This Homer Hanky came from a moment I never would’ve had without my brother’s generosity. In 1987, my brother bought a single seat to the first two playoff games of the Twins vs. Tigers and handed the one for Game 2 to me - no strings, just kindness. What made it even more incredible: it was about five rows from the field, right behind home plate, looking straight down the third‑base line. The Metrodome was loud. The pitching matchup was Bert Blyleven vs. Jack Morris. One of those moments that stays with you forever. Small acts like that don’t feel small when you’re the one remembering them decades later. Grateful for the moments we’re given… and for the people in our lives who share their blessings. #MinnesotaTwins #Thrivent #Generosity #Grateful
