With inspiring stories, practical strategies and spirited dialogue, workshop creator/facilitator John Busacker will guide participants to:
- Examine their story and how it shapes their values and motivations.
- Experience an innovative framework for purposefully designing and communicating their financial desires with those affected (children, grandchildren, heirs, organizations).
- Learn creative and inspiring insights for strengthening multigenerational relationships.
- Seek out additional Thrivent resources for tangible next steps in retirement, charitable, estate, and/or end of life planning.

CAP Volunteer Day & Happy Hour
Join us for a meaningful afternoon of service with Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) as we help sort, organize, and pack food collected through CAP’s Hunger Walk donation drive. This hands-on volunteer opportunity is a great way to support our neighbors in Appalachia while connecting with fellow clients and team members.
Please note that all volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes.
After volunteering, we'll continue the fellowship with a casual happy hour featuring food, drinks, and conversation.
Come make a difference, build connections, and help bring hope to our community.

Leaving a Thriving Legacy with Eric Bilger
Join us for an educational evening focused on helping you and your loved ones prepare for the future with confidence. Our special guest speaker, Eric W. Bilger, FIC, Financial Advisor with Thrivent, will share insights and planning considerations to help families navigate life's transitions with greater clarity and confidence.
Topics will include estate planning essentials, the purpose and role of wills, probate, beneficiary designations, estate taxes and gifting strategies, SECURE Act 2.0 updates, charitable giving opportunities, qualified charitable distributions (QCDs), life insurance planning, and long-term care considerations.
This event is designed for our clients and their adult beneficiaries. We encourage you to invite the people who may one day help carry out your wishes or serve as part of your support system. Together, we'll address common concerns surrounding aging parents, family communication, and preserving assets for future generations.
We look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones for this informative and meaningful conversation about planning for the future.

Fall Fun at Eckert's Orchard
Bring the family to Eckert’s Orchard for a day of fall festivities! Enjoy the playground, hayrides and entertainment. Then, head over to the bonfire area for food, s’mores and fellowship.
We’ll also have the opportunity to give back to our community by participating in a service project.

“Old-Fashioned” Cocktail Hour & Holiday Open House
Join us for our “Old-Fashioned” Cocktail Hour and Holiday Open House as we celebrate the season and thank the clients who make our work so meaningful. Enjoy an evening of refreshments, a seasonal charcuterie spread, and conversation with fellow clients and the IWA team.
As a token of our appreciation, each household will receive a freshly baked pie of their choice—apple, pecan, or pumpkin—to take home for Thanksgiving.
We're also collecting new, unwrapped toys and sports items for Mission of Hope to help brighten the holidays for children in Eastern Kentucky. If you'd like to participate, we invite you to bring a donation valued between $15–$25.
We look forward to celebrating the season with you and expressing our gratitude for another wonderful year together.
