I've got valuable information and resources to share. Explore away! And check back often.

The People We Love Are Worth Protecting September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, and it's a reminder of why financial protection matters. For many of us, the motivation behind every financial decision isn't found in an account statement. It's found around the dinner table, at family gatherings, and in the moments we share with the people who matter most. Life insurance can help provide financial security for the people you care about most if the unexpected happens. It's about helping protect your family's future, preserving the goals you've worked hard to build, and creating confidence that loved ones will be cared for no matter what tomorrow brings. As your life changes through marriage, children, new careers, business ownership, or retirement planning, it's important to make sure your protection strategy keeps pace with those changes. This month, take a moment to ask yourself: If something happened to me tomorrow, would the people I love be protected? If you're not sure, let's have a conversation. ❤️ Protect what matters most. #LifeInsuranceAwarenessMonth #ProtectWhatMattersMost #FamilyFirst #FinancialPlanning #LifeInsurance #Thrivent #FinancialConfidence #LegacyPlanning #FamilyProtection Disclosure: Insurance products issued or offered by Thrivent. My Mother Taught Me More About Money Than Any Class Ever Could Growing up in Ellabell, just outside of Savannah, financial literacy wasn't something that was taught in school. Instead, I learned about money by watching my mother. After my father passed away, she raised my sister and me on a cashier's salary and Social Security survivor benefits. Looking back, I realize she taught me lessons that went far beyond dollars and cents. I learned the value of hard work, sacrifice, resilience, and making the most of what you have. Years later, I attended Armstrong State College, where I met my wife, Micah. Over the last 30 years, we've raised seven children together. Along the way, we've experienced many of the same financial challenges and opportunities that families face every day: travel sports, saving for college, helping children become independent adults, celebrating weddings, and working toward our own retirement goals. Before becoming a financial advisor, I spent more than 20 years as a chemist and later earned a master's degree in education. Today, I have the privilege of combining those experiences by helping people understand financial concepts and make informed decisions about their future. As I've watched my children begin their own lives, I've become increasingly aware of the financial pressures facing young adults and growing families. Rising housing costs, childcare expenses, and concerns about student debt can make it difficult to know where to start. That's one reason I enjoy working with young professionals and families. I believe everyone deserves access to practical financial education and someone who can help them organize competing priorities into a plan that fits their life and values. What is one financial lesson you wish someone had taught you sooner?
