Through a Thrivent Action Team, we gathered over $2,500 in gift cards for fun activities around the Helena area for the children in Residential Treatment at Intermountain! So much healing and relationship building can happen while they are bowling, bouncing, going to the movies or enjoying an ice cream treat. Our Thrivent members are so amazing and generous - thank you for making the children's holiday season fun and bright!

We are so appreciative of the amazing design team that created our "World of Possibilities" entry at Intermountain's Festival of Trees! During art class at Intermountain’s Residential School, the students created the paper dolls that adorn our tree. Each child assembled a paper doll that reflects who they are – kids working on hard problems while learning how to navigate relationships, build trust, and hope for a future filled with a world of possibilities. In support of the Residential Campus and School, all of the items in this “Gift of Giving Back” tree and package will be donated to the children of Intermountain! Check out the week's events - https://www.intermountain.org/fot/

A Thrivent Action Team was used to support a cooking class for Head Start families where they learned to cook easy, delicious and nutritious meals. The event was taught by MSU Extension in partnership with Helena Food Share! Each family that participated was given a crockpot, cookbook and ingredients to make a yummy dish at home - what a great project!

We were thrilled to come alongside the Montana Foster Closet to help shop for and build “First Night Kits” with age-appropriate items that caseworkers can take with a child who has been removed from their home and placed into Foster Care. Thank you to all who donated items and their time!

Did you know the Montana Foster Closet provides resources for at-risk children? These children are often placed into foster care during immediate/emergency situations and often without basic clothing, pajamas, diapers, a coat or shoes. That is where the volunteer run Foster Closet comes in. They provide an opportunity to “shop” for needed items so children from newborns to teens can transition to a foster home with their immediate, tangible needs met. Currently, the Foster Closet needs small packages of diapers of all sizes, new clothing, socks and underwear for kids of all ages. If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring them to my office at 2600 Winne Avenue in Helena, by Monday, October 20th. We are here Monday thru Thursday from 8am to 5pm but we do close for lunch from 12-1pm and don’t want to miss you.
