I sponsored the Rio Americano High School football team's golf tournament. Thank you to my client friends Trish Meraz and Wade Sammis for playing. I met my son's coaches and promoted Thrivent's membership benefit which gives our members the ability to apply for a small grant to supplement their volunteer work. I had a few football families join and we were able to fund a lot of the snack bar. The team spends a lot of money on trainers and provides pre and post game meals to all the kids, as well as food at practice. They also buy equipment and take care of the kids that don't have the financial means to buy even the basics like the practice's shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes and cleats. Although I do not like football, these are great coaches that teach the kids a lot of life lessons on respect and teamwork.
