I've got valuable information and resources to share. Explore away! And check back often.

Had to share this incredible artwork by my sister-in-law, Kimberly. 🇺🇸 She painted this beautiful piece at the St. Joseph stairs leading down to the beach in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary — featuring Lady Liberty standing as a reminder of the freedom, hope, and opportunity that have shaped our nation’s story for generations. No country is perfect, but I’m incredibly thankful for the blessings, liberties, and opportunities we often take for granted every day. The Statue of Liberty has long symbolized courage, perseverance, and the belief that freedom is worth protecting and passing on to future generations. Really proud of Kimberly for using her talents to create something meaningful for the community and for capturing such a patriotic and reflective piece of art. If you’re in St. Joe, definitely take a moment to check it out on your way down to the beach. 🇺🇸☀️

One of the most rewarding parts of this career is helping people discover opportunities they may not have previously considered. Many individuals feel confident in their current financial plan—and often they should. However, it’s also common for planning conversations to focus primarily on investments, while other areas like taxes, long-term income strategies, and overall efficiency may not be fully explored. That’s where a more holistic approach can add value. Sometimes it’s not about changing everything, but about gaining clarity, identifying potential gaps, and making more intentional decisions over time. Getting a second opinion doesn’t mean something is wrong—it simply provides another perspective. In many areas of life, people seek multiple opinions, so it makes sense to apply that same approach to financial planning. If you’ve ever wondered whether there may be additional opportunities or areas worth reviewing, I’m always happy to have a conversation. No pressure—just a chance to explore what matters most to you. “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders.” This lyric stops me in my tracks every time I hear it. It’s simple, but incredibly deep when you really sit with it. It’s easy to say we trust God when life feels predictable, comfortable, and within our control. But real trust begins where our own borders end — beyond certainty, beyond our plans, beyond what feels safe. I pray for God’s provision, guidance, and protection over my family, but this line keeps challenging me: Do I truly trust Him without limits… or only within the borders I’ve created for myself? Faith was never meant to keep us comfortable. Sometimes God calls us into deeper waters where dependence on Him is the only thing keeping us steady. Yeah… Still reflecting on this one. 🙏

Wrapped up our men’s group for the season, and it’s hard to put into words how important this kind of community really is. Having a group of guys you can be real with—talk about faith, life, struggles, and the stuff most people keep to themselves—matters more than most of us realize. A group that prays for you, holds you accountable, and spends time in the Word… it keeps you grounded, but more importantly, it helps you navigate the weight of real life. We closed things out hearing personal testimonies, and that’s what stuck with me the most—stories of men being pulled out of darkness, addiction, and some really hard places through God’s grace, resilience, and love. That hits home. I’ve had my own struggles in the past—and still do. That’s why this kind of brotherhood isn’t just “nice to have,” it’s necessary. One of the things we talked about this week was how truth can feel exclusive—but the difference with Christianity is the invitation. A God who didn’t stay distant, but stepped into our world, offering grace as a free gift. Not something earned—something given. That’s a message worth holding onto. If you’re reading this and feel alone, stuck, or carrying things you haven’t talked about—don’t stay there. You don’t have to. I’d be more than willing to talk, pray with you, or get you connected when our group starts back up this fall. Until then, we’ll keep staying connected however we can this summer. Grateful for these guys and what God is doing through this group.

First season in the books (well… just getting started 😅) ⚾ Watching him suit up in that uniform for the first time hits a little different. You realize pretty quick you’re stepping into a new season of life—one that looks like busy evenings and weekends, dinners in the car or at the ballpark, and a whole lot of time cheering and coaching from the sidelines. Funny enough, in my world as a financial advisor, we talk a lot about “seasons” of life—planning, preparing, staying ahead of what’s coming next. What they don’t tell you is how fast some of these seasons show up… and how much you’ll want to slow them down once they do. If you’re thinking about what your next season looks like—whatever that means to you—I’d love to help you plan for it. So here’s to the chaos, the car rides, the missed swings and the big hits—and making the most of every inning along the way. Wouldn’t trade this season for anything. Grateful for the opportunity to spend time alongside our team and local advisors recently, volunteering with United Way’s outreach here in Grand Rapids. This one hit a little closer to home—we had the chance to help a veteran, Mark, and his wife transform their backyard. They already had some great bones in place, and it was awesome to help bring it to life into a space that’s actually usable, welcoming, and ready to make memories in. Seeing how excited and appreciative they were made the sun burn and sweaty shirts all worth it. We were just one small part of a bigger effort, with volunteers serving veterans across 36 locations—each one a reminder of the sacrifices made for all of us. I’m also grateful to work day in and day out with people who have a genuine heart for service—not just in what we do professionally, but in how they show up for others and our community. Really appreciate United Way and the many ways they create opportunities to step in, give back, and make a real impact. Sometimes it’s as simple as showing up—but it can mean everything to someone else. #UnitedWay #UnitedWayGR #LiveUnited #CommunityImpact #GiveBack #ServeOthers #FaithInAction #BeTheLight #LoveYourNeighbor #BlessedToServe
